Over on the SWMS site last week I discussed voice aggregation, the emerging publishing model in which independent experts (bloggers, podcasters, vidcasters) publish their views under a collective brand. ZDNet, Seeking Alpha and Huffington Post are examples. There's a variation on that theme: where the independent voices aren't supported by advertisers, but directly by the readers, who fork over cold, hard cash by the post to read what's been written.
That's what the Techdirt Insight Community is all about. Founder Mike Masnick has recruited dozens of bloggers, each with deep expertise that a corporate client would pay $500 or even $1,000 to read. Not all bloggers give away their best stuff.
