This week at SWMS I'll be analyzing coverage of the launch of the Fox Business Network. And I'll focus on the facts. What I'll say on this blog is -- and curiously I've seen it nowhere else -- is that we should expect FBN to attack businesses with whom Fox disagrees politically.
For example, remember how Bill O'Reilly attacked jetBlue this past July for sponsoring this summer's Daily Kos convention? Here's the video of a Fox correspondent ambushing jetBlue CEO David Barger outside his home. A week after O'Reilly's report, jetBlue dropped its sponsorship.
Now imagine a Fox channel focused on the business world 24/7. See what we're in for? Media coverage as yet hasn't connected the dots on red business/blue business. Someday they will. You read it here first.
